Information for speakers

 

 

Registration

At least one of the authors of accepted papers and posters/demos must purchase a FULL 4-day conference ticket to be included in the conference proceedings. Please ensure you have registered.

 

Oral presentations

Information regarding session speakers, chairs, and rooms can be found in the detailed programme. Presentations have been organized into themed sessions. All oral presentations have been allotted 15 minutes in total. Talks should be no longer than 10 minutes, allowing for 5 minutes of questions at the end. PowerPoint facilities will be provided. Please bring your presentation on a USB stick/drive. Each session will have a ‘Chair’ who will convene speakers and guide the session. Speakers need to arrive 15 minutes before the start of their session, to meet the session Chair. This is essential, to ensure that the sessions run to time. Chairs have been asked to ensure strict time keeping so please check your presentation carefully before the session begins.

 

Panel Discussion

The Panel Discussion: “The Sendai Framework (2015-2030)â€� is scheduled for Wednesday 25th April, 13:40 – 15:00. Information regarding rooms can be found in the detailed programme. The panel can choose to structure the discussion as they wish however, there is time in the programme for each speaker to have 15 minutes. As a guide, talks should be no longer than 10 minutes, allowing for 5 minutes of questions at the end. Panel speakers are not required to have slides but PowerPoint facilities will be available if needed. Please bring your presentation on a USB stick/drive if so. We are pleased to welcome Prof. Virginia Murray (PHE) as Chair of this session. Prof. Murray will convene speakers and guide the session. Panelists need to arrive 15 minutes before the panel begins. This is essential, to ensure that the session runs to time.

 

Conversation Session

The Conversation Session: “Digital Health for Public Health – Friend or Foe?â€� is scheduled for Thursday 26th April, 11:00 – 12:00. Information regarding rooms and speakers can be found in the detailed programme. The panel can choose to structure the session as they wish however, there is time in the programme for each speaker to have 15 minutes. As a guide, talks should be no longer than 10 minutes, allowing for 5 minutes of questions at the end. Session speakers are not required to have slides but PowerPoint facilities will be available if needed. Please bring your presentation on a USB stick/drive if so. We are pleased to welcome Mr. Martin Seychell (EC) as Chair of this session. Mr Seychell will convene speakers and guide the session. Speakers need to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the session. This is essential, to ensure that the session runs to time.

 

Posters and Demos

All Poster and Demo presenters must provide 1 PowerPoint slide. This slide will promote your poster or demo, both before the conference via the website and at the conference, during the Poster Flash Talk Presentations session (12:00 – 12:30 on Tuesday 24th April). Each presenter will be allocated a 2 minute slot to generate interest in their work. Please ensure you send your slide to us in advance and also bring your presentation on a USB stick/drive to the session.

â—� Slides cannot be edited or sent after Friday 20th April 2018

Poster requirements
â—� A1 paper (59.4 cm x 84.1) in Portrait orientation
â—� Velcro fastenings will be provided
â—� Please notify staff at the registration desk that you have a poster to hang and they will indicate the location of your poster
â—� You may like to bring copies of handouts with your details on to give to interested delegates
â—� Mounting posters – you will have from 12:30 – 13:30 on Tuesday 24th April to hang your poster
� Dismounting posters – by 15:30 on Thursday 26th April. Please note posters will not be displayed after this time and must be removed by their presenter
â—� Any posters left at the end of the conference will be discarded

Demo requirements
â—� There will be access to power sockets during the dedicated Poster and Demos session on Tuesday 24th April
â—� If you require anything further please contact caroline.wood@ucl.ac.uk before Friday 13th April
â—� Setting up and testing demos– you will have from 12:30 – 13:30 on Tuesday 24th April, please note items are left at your own risk
â—� Dismantling demos – by 15:30 on Thursday 26th April. Please note demos cannot be stored at the venue and must be removed by their presenter
