Marcello Ienca

Biography:

Marcello Ienca is researcher at the Health Ethics & Policy Lab at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. His research focuses on ethical design and responsible innovation for emerging technologies at the human-machine interface. He is particularly interested in the ethical implications of big data trends in digital health, especially in relation to ubiquitous data collecting technologies such as wearable computing, mHealth applications and pervasive neurotechnology. He has received several awards for social responsibility in science and technology including the Prize Pato de Carvalho and the Paul Schotsmans Prize from the European Association of Centres of Medical Ethics (EACME). His work was featured in popular media such as Scientific American, The Guardian, The Times and others.
